Eddie De Harp
CEO / DIRECTOR / WRITER / ACTOR
Eddie’s roots lie in Japan and Louisiana - east meets west. Coming from a very large family, he is the seventh of seven sons. He started out acting and writing plays for his neighborhood friends at an early age, and charging them a nickel for each tent performance. At the age of 14 his dream was to become a performer and to see the world. By the early age of 17 he landed a Virgin Records recording deal and moved to London to pursue his dream. He performed with many well known artists among them Aretha Franklin and Whitney Houston. A number of years later he managed and produced his own alternative rock/soul/funk band "UR", internationally. He decided to relocate and study in the theatre in England.
Eddie has studied acting with the best - among them close friend Johnny Depp. At age 22 he landed his first leading role in Steven Spielberg’s first TV Pilot (Amblin Entertainment) Class of “61” along with Clive Owen, (Inside Man, Closer, King Arthur) Josh Lucas ( Poseidon, Hulk), Danny Futterman (Judging Amy, Capote writer). He then went on to become and ACTORS Studio Lifetime member as well as a member of the Met Theatre ensemble, along with Ed Harris, Angelina Jolie and Holly Hunter.
During the years of fine tuning his craft Eddie moved on to direct and produce numerous avant-garde shorts, among them Last Call (London), and the HBO Spec pilot S&A 2207AD. Eddie was contracted by his friend and associate Darren Aronofsky to work on Requiem For a Dream. Eddie co-created The Fury section, the show within the film, in Ellen Burstyn Imagination.
Currently as CEO of Upperroom Pictures Eddie hopes to inspire and give a solid platform to all that wish to tell their story the way they want it to be told - without the worry of financial hardship or the political backlash of censorship.
